Eric and Sabriah met in College after their brother played matchmaker. Eric graduated with a degree in Special Education and Sabriah is a proud college drop out pursuing dance! They quickly fell head over heels and a year and a half later got engaged and married. From the beginning of their relationship, It was always the plan that Eric would start his own photo/video company but it felt like more of a 10 year goal, especially after finding themselves pregnant with their first baby, Scout.
Eric quickly found himself essentially working two full-time jobs which was not sustainable for their family and in 2016 he went full time with Eric Floberg, Inc. In that same year he found himself founding a studio space with four other guys called Creative Club Chicago.
After their second, Theo, was born Eric’s business was thriving while Sabriah was a dance teacher - which was her passion. It became apparent that the dance world was losing it’s appeal and the Floberg’s newly purchased condo that needed to be renovated was becoming something Sabriah loved. Eric convinced her to pursue her new found love of interior design as a side hustle and Nestled Home was born! Sabriah quit her job at the studio, was able to stop scrambling for babysitters and started working from home and having much more flexible hours.
Eric and Sabriah have had to make some decisions based on each of their desires, especially with Nestled Home, as they both navigate Sabriah starting her own thing and differences in personalities.
We also talk about the ups and downs of owning your own business as Eric shares about his struggles with depression in the midst of another transition year for him in his business. This has lead them to discover tangible ways for their whole family to unplug and refocus. They have also leaned into what they find important and valuable in their lives - getting quality time with their two boys (and one on the way)! They walk us through the challenges of balancing their family life while working two jobs, transitioning to full-time wedding photography and beyond.
